Grapevine Cottage is a traditional stone cottage set amidst shady grapevines with amazing sea views from the first floor terrace. It is only 8km from Kalkan but far from the madding crowd. This cozy cottage offers you the opportunity to relax and enjoy a quiet stay in the tranquility of a small rural community. Islamlar is one of the most beautiful  and luscious villages in the area due to its abundant spring water. At a higher altitude than Kalkan, in the foothills of the Taurus mountains, it is never as hot in the summer, but still enjoys great temperatures and the fabulous sunshine. Set in its own lush gardens under the grapevines where figs and walnut trees grow, Grapevine Cottage has magnificent views of Kalkan and Patara Beach. This is a unique home for guests looking for something different, a chance to escape the tourist crowds and to explore an area of outstanding beauty. You can rent a car or a local transport system is not far away. There are several excellent restaurants in the village so you don't have to go far for a good meal. Kalkan with its amazing restaurants and bars is a 15 minute drive away, where you can enjoy amazing food, catering for all tastes and price ranges, but all offering the warmest of welcomes to visitors to this beautiful harbour town.

 

The cottage provides a charismatic home with real bucolic charm, it has been decorated in a natural, old fashioned Turkish style with colourful kilims and textiles and original art work a feature. The two bedrooms are situated downstairs where it is cooler in summer. The spacious living room and well equipped country kitchen are upstairs taking full advantage of the panoramic views both of the sea and mountains. The Cottage has a number of  terraces to spend time chilling in this amazingly restful environment. For the cooler times of the year, there are two wood burning stoves. 

 

Both bedrooms are situated on the ground floor of the Cottage, where it is cooler in the summer months. They are decorated in a natural Turkish, shabby chic style and also feature some original artwork, which compliments the furniture and surroundings. Each of the bedrooms has an en suite bathroom,  and both also benefit from terraces, directly off the bedrooms either side of the Cottage, so that the beautiful gardens can be enjoyed, with the sound of the stream gently babbling through ... a perfect sound to send you to sleep!

 

There is free WiFi, and the fully equipped kitchen is perfect for making the most of the amazing fresh, organic produce on sale in the area. For those enjoying al fresco dining, there is also a wood burning BBQ.

 

The Manager is resident at Grapevine, in a second cottage, to ensure you have the most amazing stay.

 

Those of you that have visited the area before will be familiar with Kalkan and KAPSA, the charity that cares for street dogs and cats. As well as the resident dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and guinea fowl, there are a variety of dogs and cats who stay at Grapevine, usually in short term foster, before heading to their forever home, or recuperating from surgery. A cuddle and a nuzzle from all of the menagerie is guaranteed, so you never know you may well end up taking more than a small souvenir home with you !
