Kalkan is a picturesque holiday town located on the Turquoise coast. Although over the years the pretty village has grown from a sleepy fishing village to a popular holiday resort it has not been spoilt by mass tourism and has retained its peaceful and sophisticated charm. Unlike other holiday resorts in Turkey, Kalkan is not a town dominated by nightclubs and pubs. Instead it offers quality restaurants, relaxed bars, a stunning harbour and breath-taking views.

Every Thursday there is a local market selling many traditional Turkish items as well as electronical and leather goods. In addition the winding cobbled streets of the old town leading to the harbour offer a variety of shopping opportunities.

Activities

• Boat trips – what better way to enjoy the full beauty of the Turquoise coast than a relaxing day sailing around Kalkan bay? A delicious lunch is always provided on board and there are lots of opportunities for swimming in the sea.
• Kekova – For a boat trip with a bit of a difference a journey over the submerged ruins of Kekova offers some breath taking views of the famous sunken city.
• Beach clubs - Kalkan offers a wide variety of beach clubs. Most charge an entrance fee and have umbrellas and sun loungers, with ladder access to the sea for an enjoyable and relaxing day out. Many water sports are on offer around the beach clubs, from Kayaking to jet skiing.
• Patara – voted one of the best beaches in the world by the Times Online, Patara is a stunning 12km stretch of soft sand. The beach is a protected area as it is a breeding ground for the endangered loggerhead turtle. A short stroll leads to the areas ancient ruins.
• Saklikent – An incredible day out – but be prepared to get wet! The gorge is 18km long and 300m deep; one of the deepest canyons in the world.
• Hamam – the ultimate way to soothe away your stress with a luxurious Turkish bath.
